LGBTQIA+ Rights

Where I Stand

I am an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community. I will do more than acknowledge their right to exist. I believe marriage is between two people, regardless of sex or gender. I believe in access to medically necessary care regardless of gender or sexuality. I believe medically necessary access to medications and treatments that help individuals meet their physical and mental health goals should not be infringed upon.

What I’ll Do

  • I will NOT stand for ANY restrictions of LGBTQIA+ rights in our country. I will support passing the Equality Act and codifying discrimination against the queer community as illegal, the same way we do for gender, race, and age.

  • I will support legislation that funds the creation of safe spaces for these communities.

I will support legislation that removes barriers to healthcare for those in these communities.

  • I will listen to voices from leaders of these communities to ensure that I am adequately representing their communities.

Why It Matters

This issue is not complicated. Your rights are important, and we will make sure they will not be infringed upon. Any threat on the rights of the LGBTQIA+ is a threat to all of our rights. Continue to slay my gay besties. This straight cis-man has your back. I echo the sentiment of NBA legend Charles Barkley, “I want to say this: If you’re gay, bless you. If you’re transgender, bless you. And if you have a problem with that, f*** you!”
