Veterans
Where I Stand
Veterans have been taken advantage of by Republicans. They have sacrificed their lives for this country, yet conservatives have cut funding in the VA and other veteran support services. These cuts have led to massive shortfalls in care, benefits, and appreciation for our servicemen and servicewomen. There is no excuse for the current lack of benefits, specifically in healthcare, where both mental and physical health should be covered for veterans. Taking care of our veterans is not a choice; it’s a necessity. They took care of us, and we must support them during and after their service. I support expanded access and quality of healthcare for veterans and their families, holding military leadership accountable when they abuse our servicemembers’ sacrifices, and expanding funding for programs that support our troops after they serve. We now spend trillions of dollars each year on our military but not enough for our veterans. It’s disgusting.
What I’ll Do
I will vote to expand VA healthcare benefits to ensure that veterans receive the care they deserve. This includes advocating for increased funding and resources for the VA to address both mental and physical health issues. I will also work to engage with veterans and listen to their needs, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns are addressed. By doing so, we can create a system that truly supports our veterans.
Why It Matters
Supporting our veterans matters because they have made immense sacrifices for our country. They deserve the best care and benefits we can provide. Expanding VA healthcare benefits will not only improve the quality of life for veterans but also show that we value their service and dedication. It’s time to stop neglecting our veterans and start giving them the support they need. By taking action, we can honor their sacrifices and ensure they receive the care they deserve.
