Senior Care

Where I Stand

The cost of senior care like most things has skyrocketed, and that has placed an incredible burden on our elderly relying on fixed incomes that do need additional care. Having affordable senior care is essential to treating our seniors with dignity and respect that have given us so much.

A lot of us have had to do our best to take care of aging family members that need our help. I know it was tough for my family when we had to take care of my grandpa, especially when he was sick. My aunt and my mom did everything they could to provide the care they could afford. Families like mine and yours have to do everything we can to balance our lives, and that’s not even considering the seniors who have a support system in place. Those that do not are even more at risk. That’s why we can’t chose to leave our seniors behind, and I won’t.

What I’ll Do

We must provide support that will give affordable elderly care to all Nevadans.

  • Provide Home and Community-Base Service Waivers by pushing forward bills like AB 338.

  • Support and Fund Caregiver programs that give more resources to families.

Why It Matters

Giving this much-needed relief to our seniors is not only the right thing to do, but it also has positive benefits for the rest of our state. It allows working families the peace of mind to know they have a little bit of extra support so they can take more agency providing for their families. It also gives some peace of mind to those that don’t have the same levels of familial support.

Investing in senior care would not only provide that support, but it creates better health outcomes and reduces the burden on our already stressed healthcare system. It also has the opportunity to create more jobs.
